Wasted in July

Hello and happy August!

I am finally settled in here in Colorado Springs, I’ve found a amazing full-time job, I’m beginning to utilize my yoga and crystal healing biz, and I’ve even had my first out-of-town visitor! (Holla at the lil’ sis Clara!)

Slowly but surely, the zero waste lifestyle has become easy again. I’ve got my mason jars, a select few bulk food stores (Yay Sprouts!) and a bought a big stack o’ towels to use in place of paper towels for EVERYTHING, and I have nearly cut out Taco Bell. RIP.

As for what I couldn’t avoid wasting this month, meaning I couldn’t recycle, reuse or compost the item, here goes….

1 Q-tip

A FEW napkins (much less this month!!!)

3 sheets of a lint roller (I have to wear black for work…new territory, having to care about dog hair!)

5-6 creamer pods

1 trip to taco bell (beefy 5 layer burrito, bean burrito, crunchwrap supreme and my monthly baja Blast)

1-2 styrofoam to-go containers

1 pizza box

I feel so proud of this month! I also have collected quite a few to-go containers, but thankfully most restaurants use eco-friendly compostable packaging, or the boxes can be recycled.

Lastly, I will leave you with this. Even though one person going zero-waste may not seem like a lot, trust me. It is. And the more I spread my message, the more I hope to inspire YOU to share the message. If you do anything at all, show your support by SHARING this post. Maybe take it a step further by educating yourself, and doing YOUR personal best to reduce waste! Humans have come to the SCARY point where what we consume is nearly equal to what we waste.

Let that sink in.

Don’t let a moment of personal satisfaction or convenience induce the choice of something that is not only globally detrimental, but detrimental to our health, and the health of those we love. We hold the well being of our future generations, livelihood, and our LIFE SOURCE in our hands.

Take care of it.

Lots of love,
